In modern economics, the analysis of insolvency plays an important predictive function in the study of the financial condition of an enterprise. Almost a century of studying the dependencies of various factors affecting a healthy financial environment has enriched this area with some theoretical aspects and practical models of analysis. The research of domestic economists on the issue of insolvency began only in the 1980s,
when foreign economists already formed a set of theoretical and practical approaches in this direction over half a century before. However, if we consider the works of domestic economists and compare them with the results of foreign practitioners, we can see some differences in the approach to the study of insolvency from the point of view of financial and economic activity of an enterprise. In this work, the main focus is not only on comparing foreign and domestic approaches to analyzing and predicting the probability of bankruptcy, but it also offers the author's vision for improving the comprehensive economic and financial analysis of the insolvency of an enterprise. As a solution to the above issue, the author proposes a comprehensive methodology for analyzing financial and economic activities and predicting enterprise bankruptcy probability. This technique is characterized by a wide coverage of data for research due to the introduction of a mathematical matrix as a
base for calculation.
